Not every diamond ring has to mean something big. An engagement ring marks a proposal, a wedding ring marks a marriage, but a fashion ring doesn't need a reason at all — it's just a ring you liked enough to buy for yourself, or to add to the stack you already wear. That freedom shows up in the designs themselves, which lean further into shape, texture and detail than a ring built around one occasion ever would.

Rings With No Rules

Without one occasion to design around, the details worth looking for come down to how you actually wear rings, not any fixed convention. If you like to stack rings, look for a wave-shaped or wishbone band. Both are shaped to sit flush against another ring, so your existing rings fit right alongside instead of leaving a gap. If you use your hands a lot during the day, a bezel setting is worth considering too — it wraps the diamond's edge fully in metal, so there's less to catch on clothing or hair than an open prong. Want a ring that looks more substantial without one dominant stone? A cluster ring groups several smaller diamonds together for a fuller look, while a five-stone design lines them up in a row instead. And if you want something less traditional than round or oval, look for baguette cuts — sharp, rectangular stones with a more architectural feel — or fine milgrain edging for texture without adding another stone. These are just a starting point — this is where our designs take the most liberties, well beyond anything you'd find on an engagement or wedding ring.

Choosing Your Metal

Across our diamond rings, you'll find platinum and 10K, 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white and rose tones.

  • Yellow gold rings carries a warm, traditional tone.
  • White gold's rhodium plating gives it a brighter, whiter finish than platinum's naturally warmer grey-white tone, and unlike silver, it won't tarnish between wears.
  • Rose gold rings have a warm pink hue from its copper content, and are naturally resistant to everyday wear.
  • Platinum rings use a naturally white metal that never needs rhodium plating, with a denser, heavier feel than gold.

For yellow, white and rose gold, 10K contains the most alloy metal for extra durability, 14K balances durability with colour, and 18K contains the most pure gold for the richest tone; platinum, by contrast, is usually offered at a single, naturally high purity.

Choosing Between Natural and Lab-Grown Diamonds

Whatever the piece, there's still one decision that applies across all of them: where the diamond comes from. Natural diamonds formed underground over billions of years, while lab-grown diamonds are created in a matter of weeks through a process that replicates those same conditions. Both are genuine diamonds, chemically and physically identical, and neither should be confused with simulants like cubic zirconia or moissanite — the choice comes down to personal preference, not quality.
